Market Update

Morning All

Just a quick market update

Some Prices are being affected due to the price of fuel – all of the trucking companies are adding fuel levies to the prices – and obviously this looks like it will remain in place for the next few weeks/months.

Apples – we now have new season Gala, Kanzi/Hi early, Fuji, Golden Delicious, Granny Smiths.

Pears – we now have new season Packham, Nashi, Red and Bosch.

Pomegranates – still some nice local fruit coming through if you need to fill some space on shelves.

Strawberries -prices have spiked dramatically, Monday Stella will be $7.50/punnet and cheaper growers $5.50/punnet, PLEASE specify or I will give you the best.

Blueberries – Monday we will have local jumbos $9.50 each or New Zealand $8.50ea.

Potatoes – Growers are screaming with increased Fuel prices and have introduced a Cost of Production Levy of $0.60/bag starting 1st April, I will be in touch next week once I find out more.

Tomatoes – E/States market has spiked, our local farms are sending fruit directly to them, we need to match or we won’t get any supply, sorry :(.

Mandarins – new season Queensland Imperial Mandarins arrived today, fruit looks and taste good, but the heavy Queensland rains has me worried about shelf life.

Nectarines/Peaches – season is just about done, not 100% if there will be any fruit next week.

Plums – now that we are getting to the end, Flavor Fall are the only variety available.

Kiwi Fruit – we are on our very last legs of USA fruit, and it definitely looks like it, fruit is breaking down, New season Victorian will start end of next week, then local WA will start Anzac Day.

Have a Happy and safe Easter everyone 🙂

Wes
