Market Update

Morning All

Just a quick market update

Vegetables

Beans – No cheap options around sorry, prices $18-$20/kg.

Spring Onion – supply still very short and prices up.

Tomatoes – Supply has really shortened with cold weather up north, we do have some nice Queensland coming over at $6/kg.

Iceberg Lettuce – Supply still short but prices have eased slightly, still no 10 counts available though, so size still on smaller side sorry.

Capsicum – Green capsicum will be Geraldton, Red will be a mixture between Geraldton and Carnarvon, Yellow will be Carnarvon, obviously not being glasshouse now, shelf-life won’t be as good, so don’t overstock.

Burpless – Our grower is expected to have first pick early next week, quality will now improve.

Garlic – unfortunately will be Mexican for the next few weeks until local new season starts.

Zucchinis – have really shortened up this week and prices now over $1.80 each.

Fruit

Grapes – USA fruit is available but supply very inconsistent.

Kiwi fruit – We are hoping for a container of New Zealand Green Kiwi fruit Monday.

Mandarins – We are now using the Afourer variety, fruit is ok but not as tasty as previous varieties.

Melons – Rockmelon and Honey Dew Supply has really shortened up this week.

Strawberries – starting mid next week is Heavenly fruit, I will post a photo once they arrive, but these are a must 🙂

Pineapples – extremely short supply, some Queensland growers between patches, very little fruit coming over.

Mangoes – some relief with prices, still only Northern Territory fruit available.

Watermelon – Finally some relief with prices next week.

Have a great weekend 🙂

Wes
