Market Update Friday 13th

Morning All

Just a quick market update

Gala – these have been sensational, please avoid Pinklady, they are more expensive and 12 months old.

Kiwi fruit – next arrival of imported kiwi fruit isn’t until next Wednesday, so will be not available until then.

Mexican Asparagus has started and the quality is superb.

Snow Peas and Sugar Snap Peas will see a price increase and supply is low, only 1 local grower picking, the rest is E/states produce.

Roma Tomatoes Growers have left a lot of fruit on the vine for saucing leaving fruit very short in the market.

Seedless Watermelon will be slightly up in price.

Grapes Autumn Crisp in full swing, and taste amazing, stock up.

Root Vegetables – Beetroot/Turnips/Swedes are extremely short in supply and prices are up.

Pomegranates – local season has started, nice 18 count trays.

Blueberries – local season just about done, prices are up, there won’t be and blackberries moving forward.

Granny Smiths – new season local grannies should be 2nd week of March, until then unfortunately we have to pay top dollar for E/states fruit.

Mangoes – Carnarvon season now done, we will have a quick season of Gingin KP Mangoes, fruit will be green.

Chatt Potatoes – local growers are struggling to grower small chat potatoes, so we have to get from E/states, unfortunately the E/states ones are proper gourmet size which might be too big for some customers.

Have a great weekend everyone.

Wes
