Market Update

Morning All

Just a quick market update

Iceberg Lettuce – supply next week will be a lot better and prices should ease, growers now happy with size so no more small hearts next week.

Cauliflowers – Canzirri has started with local 10 count cauliflower, quality is sensational.

Red Chillies – are an issue at the moment due to the recent heat, quality is poor and prices up.

Snow Peas and Sugar Snap Peas – we will be using E/states produce next week, prices have come back slightly.

Cherry/Grape tomatoes – we have tried some Hydroponic locally grown cherry and grape tomatoes, quality is sensation but cost $3 each, I think the extra $0.60 is definitely worth it.

Baby Carrot 250g punnets will be unavailable until further notice. Grower is between patches.

Baby Qukes 250g – these have become extremely short and prices have spiked, next delivery from East Coast might not be until Tuesday/Wednesday.

Due to the flooding in QLDSweet Potato is shortening up, and price will increase next week.

Potatoes – after a disastrous couple of weeks, we are expecting better quality next week, very sorry but unfortunately these things happen.

FRUIT NEWS

Apples – New season Gala and Fuji now available. Kanzi 2 weeks away 🙂

Cherries – cherries are finished for the season.

Blueberries – although we are still using local blueberries, 90% of the market is NZ and Tasmanian fruit, we have access to some local blues that are in trial faze, these are more expensive but fruit so much better.

Pineapples are extremely short in supply & very expensive.

Pink Lady Apples are extremely short in supply orders may be cut back, please avoid, these are 12 months old.

Pears – we have new season Bartlett and Red Sensation Pears. Bartless are a bit scratchy to start the season.

Mangoes – really just dribs and drabs coming through, season nearly done and quality poor.

Mandarins – there is Egyptian available but I’m not a fan.

Oranges – we have finally had to swap to Egyptain Navles, Local season is done, new season E/States M7 Variety will start in 3 weeks.

NZ Apricots are back in.

USA Kiwifruit is Available again but only Green, might also have some local Gold Loose Monday.

Pomegranates – local Pomegranates are now in season.

Melons – Rockmelon and Honey Dew supply is very short and prices have spiked, local season finishing.

Have a great weekend everyone.

Wes
