Tomato Quality
Written by martins-produce | Posted on 17 September 2024
Morning All
The markets are having major trouble with quality of tomatoes, this time of year we rely on Carnarvon tomatoes which are never good enough to send, and the recent heat in Carnarvon has destroyed whatever half decent fruit they did have, the current Virus in South Australia has changed the Western Australian quarantine laws, so now fruit needs extra fumigating and its causing all sorts of problems with the Queensland fruit which is usually glamor, and even though we are going through every box for you, there will be the odd bad tomato that can turn bad overnight, please let us know how much you loose and we can organize you a credit, I’m sorry but there is no other options, New Season Local still 2 months away.
Garlic today we had our first delivery of local purple garlic, quality is sensational, but these are $48/kg, although imported is only $20/kg, quality is now too poor to send so we will have to swap you over to local, keep your margins low, prices should ease quickly.
Have a good week everyone
Regards,
Wes
